There was a dentist who worked in a schoolbus, and while working on somebody, he told the story of
:THE VORTEX:
It seems, during the 70's here in Oregon, there was about to be a LARGE FIGHT against the Pro Vietnam War Veteran's Association and the old OREGON HIPPIES, who were obviously not for the war.
IT WAS COMING TO A HEAD... and the tensions got very high in Eugene.
So... to offset it.... the WISE and BRILLIANT and very human Governor, TOM MCALL, did the best thing in the world.
To thwart the pending violence, instead of calling out the National Guard and making it loud.
HE..
PICKED UP THE PHONE... and BOOKED A FREE FUN MUSIC CONCERT with the best artists he could get, instantly.
Then the HIPPIES and the VETERANS both went to the concert.
and we all were happy.
So... perhaps let's ROCK IRAQ!!

TOLERANCE... it's THIS is what IT is all about. And it seems the inability of other things is what is feeding in to the hate, all the hate.
HATE and WORRY and FEAR is wearing us all down...
Demoralize your opponent, the less his will to carry on.
So, we have ORGANIZED against:
Liberals... wellfare moms... the sourage of the world... and she's taking YOUR MONEY.
Same Sex Marriages... What is this all about... you'd think these have nothing to do with government... it's another place for tolerance, which is what US is all about, isn't it? Tolerance for what is different, to accept where possible. That's what it is... Tolerance is acceptance for someone being able to say, I wanrt to be different.
Abortion, I'm intellegent, and I don't want to have a child. I can't go through with it, and I want to not promote a child that is NOT WANTED.
A child that is NOT WANTED is like having a child on your doorstep, and they have no way to guide their life.. somewhere they are created into.. a life of wandering and looking for their purposes in life.
Either you make it, or you are falling into yes..

Back from a FUN BM in the DESERT and DC
Drix blog, stardate, WED, SEP 15,2004 -
Returning from Burning Man Event and 95th Bomb Group (H) reunion in Washington, DC.
When I go to my annual Burning Man Event, I like to take, in my heart and head, a small list of Decisions and Understandings that I'm workin' on in my life, and I work on them in my head as I roam the vastness which is Burning Man on the Playa.
So, that being covered I accomplished and returned with this year different by going METRIC. Yep, it's a Meter Dieter, and I'm now using metrix for drix! Deep in meditation there I discovered something I can get the joy and fulfillment of having something to focus my beliefs in, something to help me focus my everbouncing mind into creative alternatives and finally, something that would benefit all, so it's not a complete waste of time.
So... ahem... at the Burning Man Event on the wonderfully hot, flat and bland landscape landscape of the Black Rock Desert playa, I discovered the answer right there in my hands... whoops. Well, yeah... in a way it is, er, uh, was. I concluded... for Americans, like meself, inorder to better understand the world, and continue to live an easier life, this would require me updating my head to a better operating system. And, that is the worldwide standard of Metric measurments, and not something based on the size of some old King's right foot.
So, there. I'll now focus on observing the life around me, not based on any old values or pre-concieved notions. To me a completely new Paradigm Shift.
Because I'm also leaving behind old attitudes and the values connected wiht them.
No more thinking of things by old values of size and... size. No more expressions of Tons of anything, Feet per second, or losing Pounds, Inches or Gallons.
It's NOW ( at my brief copper ceremony at BM) that brand new day. We get to REASSESS our thoughts and feelings of Judgements, Values, and Communications with everybody based on NEW NEW NEW not OLD OLD YUCK.
So... to blaze the way... I'm kickin' off this announcement that DRIX is now a KILLOM-O-LITER TALLER.

WELL, I gave them FIVE YEARS on the OPN BOARD, and concluded the current setup was not able to SURVIVE. Too many directions, agendas, and in my case, sneeky activities which did not have the big picture in mind.
In the big picture, this is the BEST THING that could have happened.
AND... from this article, notice they don't need any of EFN's hardware, or people. I hope it helps. No, I'm sure it will help.

Vida Girls - and Native American Music, mixed with Klezmer
Vida Girls - American Funk Hick-Hop Band from Eugene, Oregon
AS I work on this Vida Girls site, I go to seek music on the net to support my heavy thinking.
USUALLY... my favorite streaming audio mustic is by the old "Spinner" now called music plus at netscape.
I feel like being DIFFERENT today, musically speaking too, as it helps me focus. SO, I OPEN UP my installed: WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER, and turn to RADIO, and wind up with a NATIVE AMERICAN MUSIC channel, that is quite amazing.
It also triggers me, of how much I like having so many different music styles available. On MP&N, I really like: KLEZMER (yittish jazz), OCTOBERFEST - German Polkas, NATURAL SOUNDS ( my fav, 15 minutes of stream, followed by 15 minutes of thunderstorm, or windchimes on back porch. Also on MP&N. So now, I add NATIVE AMERICAN and I flash in my head.... THESE STYLES, so different in origins, but so plesantly received... is what .... AMERICA.. is all about.
OK... that's my BLOG NOTE, and I'm weBLOGging it now.

A View from the Classroom -- Lehmann's Log: Spaulding Gray Update
Today's BLOG - (i'm starting a serious path now)
STARDATE: Today and counting...
Drix sez: I miss Spaulding Gray, the bright and kind thinking east coast man that killed himself a few weeks ago. I only knew him through his writings.. hell, I never read, his MOVIES, his sit behind a desk, start a story and take the listener on a real Mark Twain storytell.
So, I guess he had an accident. His body started missfiring, and it bothered him so much, that he took his wallet and keys, put them on his dresser, and went out for a walk, and a ride on the Staten Island Ferry.
That was in the front of FEBRUARY - two de four, and he was never heard from again. His wife and kids are sad, and their house is MT.
So, here it is, March9, two de four, and his body has just been found on the Staten Island Ferry route.
I GOOOGLE searched Spaulding Grey, and found this cool blog of an
English teaching, tech-coordinating, basketball and Ultimate coaching teacher at Beacon. (Beacon what? I don't know. Must be a local something, but I really enjoyed his writing.
So, there.

D'd my Daut signs up for a year.
I just want to note, that today, not two hourz ago, my incredible daut D'd (daughter Diedra) just moved onto her first totally own apartment today. Least, today, she signed the lease... and called me to tell me. Said she may have her phone off, so I sent this instant messege from my computer to her cell phone. This is what I sent...

You have to make it worth the deal.
My friend Lazar told me something very wise today, and I want to write it down before it gets lost. "You have to make it worth something to them first." I don't want to write a lot more now, but this line, to me, when he said it and now, has a lot of merti to me as in it's simplicity of applied marketing principles.

So, in case you don't know, and I'm not sure why you'd know, but it's a nice way to enter... in case you don't know, I am an eclectic eccentric electronic artist of communications, who is so amazed and fascinated with the net, and the world, and the beauty of this brave new medium.

I just spent a half hour...touring New York City, then Mars, then looking at the Egyptian Pyramids, looked at the Grand Canyon, and checked out Matchu Pichu... from above with Satellite Images. They are amazing, and if your browser works with the site, you can zoom in to amazing detail. Go play, but set your alarm first!

MY NEW MEDS... and boy can I focus now

SO TIRED of having PILES of unfinished projects, dreams, and promises. You think, "Yeah, I'll do that." Then, you don't get it done, other things happen, and the projects pile up.
You look at the piles, and it starts to depress you that you can't get them done.
But, to not start projects, to me, is to not be living the life I was given.
So, new meds, new year, and the above link, is to a most amazing drug definition site. The power of knowledge...
